DesignToBeSold.com   Less is more and very much in style.  Your home's first impression begins with the front entrance foyer.  This is a critical juncture, setting the stage for your home's design sense beyond the threshold.  Consider the following list of must do's prior to receiving your first visitor, the Listing Agent.  It is important to note when your home shows well,  the Listing Agent is more inclined to photograph the interior's show appeal for online viewing.  Prospective purchasers may be introduced to your home's attributes first through internet exposure, and then by actually touring your home for a second opinion.

*....Remove decorative items hung on foyer walls, and replace with a grouping of three or five framed pictures.  Any additional decorative items projecting out from the wall will impede the traffic isle's ease of movement and may be a visual distraction. 
*....Colour is a personal choice, however, when marketing your home, a monochromatic colour scheme enhances the theme of simplicity.  Warm earthy tones are pleasing to the eye and*....Furniture selection should be minimal, and placed against interior walls, as opposed to placing furntiture directly in front of the windows.  By removing none essential furniture pieces from each room, the effect you will achieve is a more open space and improved traffic isles.  This process may require some furniture pieces being placed in storage, until a later date.
*....Remove as many personal items that visually clutter the walls throughout the home.  Place all articles of clothing, household toiletries and fussy objects away, during showtime!
*....Kitchens and Bathrooms sell the home!  Place vases of fresh flowers on cabinet countertops.  Ensure clean and sparkling metal finishes and repair any nicks in cabinet doors.  During showtime, leave a small number of generic accessories of interest on the counters.  In the bathrooms, display small groupings of towels, soaps and spa items.  Refrain from using more than one colour of towels and keep it simple.  Repair any broken faucets and drain stoppers.  Again, add additional lighting.
